Each one is low in fat, high in fiber, and rich in vitamins and minerals. Generally a bowl of breakfast cereal should provide lots of fiber and not too much sugar. The Healthy Choice Multi-grai- n Squares contain the most fiber, at 6 grams, or a quarter of the recommended daily intake. Now that's a great fiber source. So good, in fact, that the Flakes qualify as a good fiber source at half the Multi-grain- s, 16.5-oun- ce whole-health- Multi-grai- rately. For example, the old label explained that a serving of Kellogg's Raisin Bran contained 13 grams sugar, with 7 of the grams from the raisins. But the new label doesn't do this breakdown, making this one of few areas where the new food labels actually aren't as good as the old. Carolyn: That comparison to Cocoa Puffs Bonnie just made is no lie. The biggest surprise about these new cereals (beyond the fact that Healthy Choice now makes cereal) is how good and sweet all three varieties taste. Given the Healthy Choice name and the emphasis put on I was expecting cereals at least as spartan as Nabisco Shredded Wheat and Kellogg's Corn Flakes. Instead what you get is a multi-grain- s. thick Life Squares), a sweet Total (Toasted Multi-Grai- n Flakes) and another Great Grains (Multi-GrainRaisins, Almonds &. Oat Clusters). Like most other regular chips, one serving, or about 17 chips, contains 10 grams fat, or about 15 percent of the recommended daily limit for fat. But what is added along with fire and spice is the flavor enhancer MSG and, in the flamin' hot chips, artificial colors. At first glance, the Multi-grain- s, Raisins, Almonds & Oat Clusters variety seemed high in sugar. Sixteen grams is actually more than is in Cocoa Puffs or Kellogg's Cocoa Krispies.
