For more information, call Walk for Sight Walkathon Gunnison Seniors Banquet The Gunnison Senior Citizens will have a banquet to honor all senior volunteers. All senior citizens are invited to the free banquet, which will be held at 7 p.m. complete the course. Contestants will gather at the building in Mayfield for the starting gun and the walk will finish at the Gunnsion City Hall. The route will follow State Highway 24 and highway patrolmen will make sure the road is clear for the walkers. Lions club members will be posted along the route with cold drinks and cookies for the walkers. Walkathon entry forms are available at the Gunnison High School office, at the city hall, and at the 'Mid State Jeep' on Highway 89 in Gunnison. Each walker will solicit his or her own pledged sponsors who will pay $1 per mile for the distance walked. Run The Fremont Indian State Park will sponsor the Broken Arrow Run, the second annual run through Fremont Indian State Park and Clear Creek Canyon on May 23. The run will begin at 9 a.m. from the Visitors Center and the course will follow the old highway up the canyon through the narrows then down the canyon to the finish line in front of the Visitors Center.
