The RELO network has approximately 4,000 member offices nationwide and has representatives in 13,000 cities in the U.S. and in 19 foreign countries. efforts-throu- IIN r modest improvement in the overall real estate market is anticipated for 1992, according to relocation specialists in a recent survey conducted by RELOThe International Relocation Network. Survey respondents noted that the 1992 presidential election year will help bring about lower interest rates, at least for the first six months. They also indicated the need for continued stimulation of the economy by the federal government to help increase the number of buyers and sellers in the real estate market. An improving real estate market in 1992 is forecasted by 59 percent of RELO members responding to the survey. Meanwhile, 15 percent said the real estate market would not improve and 26 percent said the market would remain at the current levels. The RELO network is the largest independent real estate network in the country. Its members specialize in helping individreal estate uals and corporate employees with transfer-relateservices, including rental and commercial real estate services. Those responding to the survey were very optimistic that real estate sales will increase in their market area during the first three months of 1992, as 52 percent predicted such an increase. Only nine percent said sales will decline, while the remaining 39 percent forecast that real estate sales will remain at current levels during the first three months of 1992. There were mixed reactions on the subjects of home prices and mortgage interest rates for the first three months of 1992. Twenty-thre- e percent of the respondents said they expected for to rise during the first three months of 1992, homes prices 15 percent predicted a price decrease, while 62 percent said home prices will remain at current rates. As far as mortgage interest is concerned, 45 percent said that interest rates will decline, 52 percent said that rates will remain at current levels while only three percent said that interest rates will decrease. Rehiring activities by some corporations and stepped up operations by others will lead to an increase in relocation volume during the first three months of 1992, according to surpercent said they believe the vovey respondents. Thirty-on- e lume of relocation activity will be increasing during the months of January, February and March, while 13 percent said activity will decrease and 56 percent indicated that relocation volume will remain at current levels.
