Show Wednesday, November HEBER CITY The Wasatch-Summ- it County Cbmmunity Health Coalition, funded by the Kaiser Foundation, is one of four drug and alcohol abuse prevention programs in the nation to receive an exemplary award from the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The coalition received the Award for Excellence, signed by Louis Sullivan, Secretary of Health and Human Services, recognizing it "as a distinguished community health promotion program in Wasatch and Sumr Counties." nmiori riirartnp said the coalition submitted a brief description of its program to the state health department which approved it and forwarded it to the U.S. Department of Health ' and Human Services. The students who make Who's Who selections are among five jwr-ceof the nation's high school and nt ' college students. The announcement came from Education Communications which Tecently released the inaugural edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers. The book that recognized exceptional teachers lists 24,700 teachers who were selected by their tough-- , est critics, their former students. The World Cup races are part of the 1991 NORBA National Champi- onship Series. They are comprised of seven race events in the United States. Last July, Park City hosted one of eight of NORBA's Point Series Races at Telemark Park, located near the base of Deer Valley Resort. About 500 competitors irom across the United States raced on the Park City course, including a Tecord field of pro riders. Pe,B5 Schools earn honors 'Forgotten Patient Christmas Program' seeks volunteers For many patients without families at the Utah State Hospital and Wasatch Mental Health, Christmas can obviously be a very lonely time. Each year the hospital has 260 patients, ranging from ages 6 to 90, who would have m Christmas without the help of the community. The Forgotten Patient Christinas Program has been designed to help provide Christmas for those patients. Organizers say the success of the program depends totally on community volunteers.
