In a game of busted plays, fumbles and tipped touchdown passes, the Templars came through with the determination necessary to over come the Juab Wasps 18--0 Friday night at Nephi. Led by the offensive sawy of quarterback brothers Steve and Eric Olson and the determined running of John Barrett and Justin Ludvigsen, coach Bill Sullivan's team compiled over 300 total yards enroute to improving its record to - Tha play of the game came late in the second quarter when sopho- more Steve Olson launched a bomb down the sideline. The pass was batted several times by the Juab secondary before coming down in the hands of receiver Lorin Williams. With nothing but endzone in front of him, he sprinted in for a 69 yard touchdown to give the Templars a 12-- 0 lead. That play illustrated the story of the game for the Wasps, who fell to 2 on the season. Plagued by 75 yards in penalties, four fumbles and several missed third down conversions, Juab took itself out of several key scoring chances. Meanwhile, the Templars were able to garner two more touchdowns, capitalizing on the Juab miscues. The first came on a 27 yard touchdown strike by Eric Olson to Brent Rasmussen to give Manti an early lead. Late in the fourth quarter, the Templars ran in a third touchdown on a d linebuck by Ludvigsen. However, it was the Templar defense that drew praise from Sullivan. "Our defense looked good. They didn't have a whole lot of yards," he noted. "Greg Barton, Mark Nielson and John Jackson all had outstanding defensive games." bsI iiiiliil' jtwl !
