May Dancers to Give European Preview The U.S. National Formation Champions from Brigham Young University will compete for further ballroom dance honors this month at the prestigious British Professional Invitational Competition in Blackpool, England. Before leaving, the dancers will give a European Preview concert May 20 at 8 p.m. in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom. Tickets will be available at the door and may be in purchased advance weekdavs from 8 to 10 a.m. in 263 Richards Building. The top 36 dancers in the university's ballroom dance program will perform in new costumes and will premiere two works, a new Latin American medley, and a selection called "Fred Astaire Medley," written and designed for the ballroom dancers by Sam Cardon, a Utah composer, and Ron Simpson of the Sound Column and of BYU s Lamanite Generation. "This is the show we take to other parts of the United States and throughout the world," says Tom Murdock, information director of the team. "What local audiences usually see is our entire company, not the streamlined, competition teams."
