Alhambra Playhouse The Alhambra Playhouse Thea tre announces the formation of a new theatre for young people under 18 years of age The Alhambra Youtheatre. - The opening production of the Youtheatre will be "Strike One! You're" Out!" a charming and funny little musical about baseball in the little leagues. Directed by Julie Parker with Natalie Johnston as assistant. "Strike One!" deals with a girl and her friends who try to signup for an' all boys little league team but the commission isn't having any of it. The Gary Burton Quartet will at the be perfoming tomorrow night Pavillion tent-cover- The Youtheatre is staffed by young people under age 18 except for adults in advisory capacity and an adult to serve as the director for each show. AH other positions and all roles are played by young people. All auditions are open to any young person in the valley and the notices will be posted in the papers prior to the auditions. Snowbird ed at 8 p.m. Quartet Concert On Thursday, Jazz Vibraphone virtuoso and Pioneer f the Jazz-Roc- k movement, Gary Burton, will be performing as a Guest of The Snowbird Institute. The Gary Burton Quartet concert will begin at 8 p.m. at Snowbird and will be held on the outdoor pavilion on level three, rain or shine. (The Pavilion is covered by a tent.) The Snowbird Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing fine and performing arts up into the mountains. Those auditioning for ballet need at least two years of experience, doggers and folk dancers need one year of experience. Special rates are available for school, church and other groups. Special performances may be requested during school hours. The show will also be available to tour to school groups. The Martin Harris Pageant, a musical-theatric- major produc- al tion, will open Aug. 30 and run through Sept. 3 in Clarkston at the recently dedicated Martin Harris Memorial Amphitheatre. The musical drama is taken from the musical play "Martin Harris: The Man Who Knew" Duane Huff students, amateur dancers and former professional dancers opportunites to perform in ballets and folk dance programs. The company is incorporated, with a nonprofit charter, and does not provide lessons.
