"We like to get into the things that are meaningful to the elderly," says Dr. Robinson. "We feel learning and aging are as broad as life." "I think it's a good general education and I feel this knowledge helps students in their other disciplines like health, recreation, management, social work and nursing," he says. "I feel it has given some students perhaps a vocational focus they didn't have before," he further explains. Among these various programs, Dr. Robinson says the main focus and mission of the center is three-folteaching, research, and community service. He says the center is trying to provide education and training for the elderly and for out their life," he says. The center is also affiliated with a national program known as Elderhostel. "We try to provide a smorgasbord of teaching possibilities to people," he says. "We want to teach them about the aging process and to help them meet their needs like a should."
