The Host Family program at BYU, sponsored by the International Office, has been developed over the past few years to give Utah Valley families an appor-tunit- y to share a meal, a family home evening, a special occasion, holiday or other activity with a , foreign students. Dr. Enoc Q. Flores, adviser to international said the program is designed to extend a hand of friendship to students while they are far from their homelands. He pointed out that hosting a student does not mean having him or her as a permanent boarder. "It does mean, though, developing a friendship in which the individual and the family can learn something about each other's culture," he said. Last year more than 100 families from throughout Utah Valley participated in the Program which is similar to a nationwide program at other colleges - and universities. Dr. Flores explained that the program matches interested international students with volunteer families in such a way that each will have an opportunity to exchange cultural learning and develop and a lasting friendship Families in Utah Valley interested in the program I should comtact the BYU International Office at or 224-434- And At 3 OREM-224-S- Tkt Door CIRCLE , NOW IS THE TIME FOR HEROES.
