Members of the Provo track team are taking that cliche literally this year and have either tied, broken or nearly broken 12 of the 17 existing 'ecords at the school. New marks have been established by Leo Lines in the 120 high hurdles (15.0) and in the 330 intermediate hurdles, and the discus ) (40.4 ), Richard Meldrum in the shot put Kurt Gunther in Ed Lyman in the javelin (185-4') and the medley relay team of John the pole vault Enslow, Mike Jensen. The 440 relay team of Tim Ford, John Enslow, Mike Jensen and Matt Miner is just .1 second off the school mark of 43.5 set in 1974. This record too, should fall before the season gets much older. The longest standing record on the Bulldog books is Jeryl Smith's fine 50.8 mark in the 44f but that too is about to be wiped out by Alan Kirkwood. Provo's most impressive performance of the spring has come at the Weber Invitation two weeks ago.
