The funds are for the second half of the 1980 fiscal year. The state will use the federal funds for surveys of endangered wildlife and plants, research, and law enforcement efforts to protect threatened animals and plant species. The federal allocations are based on state requests for support of specific endangered species projects. The states must put up $1 for every $2 allocated by the federal agency.
