Mrs. Spendlove and children also spent Friday here. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Delaney and family had as Thanksgiving dinner guests Mrs. Delaney'a parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Mannion of Copper-to- n and sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brown and daugh-ter, Lynne, of Midvale. Martha Circle met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Bessie West. A very lovely one o'clock luncheon was served after which a business meeting was held and bridge was played. Prizes were won by Mrs. Bess Kemp, Mrs. Neva Jensen, Mrs. Helen Austin and Mrs. Mary Zac-cari- a. Other members present were Mrs. Berenice Willie, Mrs. Myrtle Thomas, Mrs. Margaret DuBois, Mrs. Myra Larick, Mrs. Pearl Mrs. Charlotte Murano, Mrs. Edna Jaicobsen, Mrs. Isabell Sorrels, Mrs. Kay Sonne, Mrs. Hel-en Sullenger ana Mrs. Ida Bolman. Next Circle meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Willie in Lark December 16. Miss Pat Nirlson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hunt Nielson, was one of 1 5 new members received into XI Lambda Tau sorority dur-ing recent initiation rites at College of Southern Utah, Branch of U.S.U., Cedar City, according to a release just received from the office of Mrs Elaine Southwick, chairman of Wo-men's Activities Group at the col-lege. Annual Thanksgiving dinner of the Firemen and Auxiliary conjoint dinner group was held Monday n'ght with all being in attendance, j A delicious turkey dinner was en-joyed after which five hundred was played. Prizes were won by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dispenza, Ross M. Cush-in- g and Mrs. Leonard Bell. The committee arranging the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Anthon O. Mrs. Rita Ugarte and family, John, Hilda and Mrs. Eddie Muhar and daughter, Cathy, spent the Thsnksgiving week end at Boise, Idaho, with Mrs. Ugarte's father, toe Arostegui, and other relatives, left here Wednesday morning and returned Sunday. Bingham Ward Relief Society will hold their monthly literature meeting next Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m. at the ward house with Mrs. Ror!!a Nerdin giving the lesson. All ladies of the ward are invited. . Fire Lades meet next Monday night, Dec. 7, with Mrs. Hugo as hostess. It will also be birthday night for December. Ruth Rebekah Lodge held their regular meeting for December at the Civic Center Tuesday night with Mrs. Joe A. Jenson hostess for the evening. O HOLY ROSARY by Connie Mochizuki Retreat A day of spiritual activity will begin at 9 a.m. for high school stu-dents on their day of retreat to be held Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Immacu-late Conception Church, Copper-ton-. Studonts attending religion classes from West Jordan, Cyprus and Bingham are invited to take part in this day at" recollection, and Father John J. Sullivan stressed that only students studying religion will be excused from school. Re-treat as explained by Father Sulli-van, is a temporary withdrawal from one's every day pursuits for the purpose of drawing closer to God by prayer and. meditation. Pur-pose of the student retreat is to gain progress in the spiritual life. The conferences of the retreat will ba given by Father James Weber, C.S.S.R. of the Redemptorist Fath-ers. Mass will ba celebrated at 12:00 noon by Father Jerald Merrill, Ass't pastor of St. Theresa's, Midvale, and the dialogue of the mass will be explained by Father Lawrence Spellen, Our Lady of Lourdes, of Magna. One hour, 2:15 to 3:15, will ba devoted to a social hour in the church hall with refreshments to be served by the Immaculate Conception Altar. Society. Confes-sions ijll be heard by Father Sulli-van, Father Merrill and Father Spellen. They will also be available for private consultation. The Fran-ciscan Sisters of the Atonement will render assistance throughout i'n day. Tuesday, December 8 Next Tuesday, Dec-- 8 is Feast of tha Immaculate Cenception and a Holy Day of Obligation. Father Sullivan announced that masses will be at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Holy Rosary; 12 noon at Immaculate Conception Church and 4:30 p.m. at St. Paschal', Lark. Today First Friday of Month Today, Dec 4, is the first Friday of tho month. There will be all day adoration with the Exposition pf the Blessed Sacrament at 8 iOO a.m. in Holy Rosary Church with bena-d'etio- n and mass at 6 iOO p.m. At Immaculate Conception, the Bless-ed Sacrament will be exposed at 9 a.m. to 3:30 p. m. with distribution of Holy Communion. At St, Pas-chal's Church, Lark, mass will be offered at 4:30 p.m. Im. Conception Altar Society Immaculate Conception Altar Society with Mrs. John Anderson presiding, held their regular meet-ing Thursday evening, Nov. 26th. During the course of the business meeting a committee was chosen to prepare and sort toys for the Bingham District . Christmas plan. Chairman was Mrs. Vincent Miola and assisting her was Mrs. Victor Mononcini, Mrs. Ralph Murano, Mrs. Gene Dellagnola and Mrs John Muhar. Cloth'ng to be sent over-seas for the Bishops. Foreign Relief will be taken care of by Mrs. And-erson, Mrs. Cuy Delia Lucia, and Mrs. William Ablett. Plans were also made for the Christmas party to be held Thurs-day, Dec. 7. are Barbara Brown, Joan Cowdell, Bobbie Lee Johnson, Peggy O'Neal and Gail Lloyd of Salt Lake City. Later the group enjoyed Mis Wright's new stereophonic record player. A del'ghtful evening was enjoyed by everyone. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kenning and children. Attending were Johnny Johnson, Reeves Dahlatrom and Jeff English. The fellows enjoyed the hunt very much. Enjoying a bowing party at Junction Lanes Saturday evening were Misses Bobbje Lee Johnson, Barbara Brown, Joan Cowdell, Mary Steadman, Joyce Faurachow, Loleta Merten of West Jordan, and Bev-erly Anderson of South Jordan. After bowling chili was served by Miss Anderson at her homo in South Jordan. Terry. A b'rthday party was hold for Kent Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Peterson, in celebra-tion of his sixth birthday. It was given by his mother and those at-tending were Tracy Hatch, Jerald Dalley, Jimmy and Douglas Wan-Icie- r, Russell and Scott Crump, Mark Lancaster, Danny Johnson, Joel Granquist, and Craig Peterson. Ice cream and birthday cake were served. Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Johnson, Bobb e Lee and John-ny, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lundberg were among the many guests attending the open house held at Union Park Community Building in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Trapp, nee Miss Shirley Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Olson of Union.
