UTAH COUNTY, UTAH THURSDAY, APRIL 1, 1965 Exhibition O Over 200 entries are expected for the Central Utah Regional Science Fair at Brigham Young University Saturday, April 3. Entries will be from junior and senior high school students in Utah, Wasatch, Summit, and Tl f DOZ. Tooele counties. Sponsors of the fair are the .Utah Academy of Sciences, Arts ? and Letters, Junior Academy Division, and BYU. Students from throughout the area are working on a variety of experiments, including a fur nace for the electrolectic de composition of titanium, The furnace can be heated as high as 2,000 degrees ' centigrade. Another interesting exhibit will hi a laser machine which emits a high energy- beam of light The intensity of the beam is controlled by .voice. Location Given - f'.f ) . Exhibits wjll be open to the public from a.m. to 5 p.m. Exhibits will be in the fields of botany, zoology, general biology, physics, ; chemistry and earth sciences. Scientific papers will be presented Friday at 10 a.m. with the winning entries to be read before the Senior Academy at Utah State University April 17. Several outstanding r prizes will be. awarded to the winners. They include a trip to compete in the International Science a Fair in St. Louis May five-da- y U.S. Navy cruise and an assortment of books including encyclopedias and science book ets. A birth certificate 'must be presented before a child can be enrolled in the school program. If possible, this should be brought to the registration.
