But while the hard work came as expected, the profits began coming in sooner than expected. It was the fifth month that the company closed its books and for the first time found black ink at the bottom of the page. Mr. Gardner attributes the success of his company to an early decision to maintain high standards of quality control. Even with the increased volume which has required the use of a total of 38 employees, there is strict enforcement of quality checks on the ultimate product. Plant Location Another early decision had to be made on where to locate the business and Mr. Gardner said that Orem was selected after a great number of things had been taken into consideration. It was a matter of economics that caused the selection of the state of Utah. Materials were readily available and there were ways of shipping the finished product in both directions across the nation. Utah County was chosen mainly through the efforts of the sales Gardner's Mr. skills have brought management about the development of a sales representative force established in 36 states.
