Emigrated from Birmingham Conference in 1800, with bis father's family. Arriving in New York, they found that they had not sufficient to bring the whole family through, he and two sisters continued their journey, arriving in Smithfield, Utah, the fall of the same year, where he has constantly resided up to Lis death. He was rebaptized and ordained an Elder at Smithfield in June, 1801, and was ordained into the 64th quorum of Seventies in 1870. He was a faithful and efficient laborer for the welfare of the ward in which he lived, being for many y ears leader of the choir, which he re signed a few months previous to his death, on account of sickness; he also labored a number of years as superintendent of tho Sabbath School, which position he held at his death.
