The Ikseret News received the following special from Manti yesterday: John Uomero, a Mexican, who on the first day of May, shot and killed William If. Manning, at Joes Valley, Sanpete county, surrendered himself yesterday to the precinct officers of this place, at 10 o'clock, a. in. TWlay an examination of the case was held before Justice Jauiei C. Greenwell, Green, Jos. Wright, Greenwell, Jun., Fraak Giles, Joe Clayton, Dick McCarty, Dennison, and F. J. Hampton. As we stated before, the majority of the shooters were amateur sportsmen, and well for us that we make the assertion. Although seventeen of the contestants managed to kill one bird, at least, out of six rounds allowed each, Mr. Fred Hampton deserves special credit for the easy manner of himself and the equality, which characterized his score, an examination of which will show that he was the only party that made a cloan score of ciphers. There were lo- several juvenile sharp-shootecated on the outside of the park to way fence, arrived with shot-gunlay any unfortunate bird that might escape the contestaata, and it is but justice to the aforeaaid juvenile 8. S.'s to state that this morning they reaped a rich harvest. The shooting was pretty even during the last round, and had it not been for Mar shal Brown's magnificent shot at the last, the affair would have resulted in n tie.
