Hayt here told the Herald reporter that the presence of troops was the cause of the outbreak. The Herald's Washington special1 today and yesterday attribute the outbreak primarily to the aggressive miners ana tne lanure ot governs ment to keep faith wilhthe Indians, but says that Agent Meeker has proved one of the most upriirhl and competent men in that branch of public servic; he has, however, been handicapped by a congress which has failed to make appropriations for from $75,000 to $200,000 due these Indians. This paper also says: If the Indians who are on reservations ceded to them by the eovernment under treaty were protected, as thev are entitled to be, against the aggressions of marauding miners, and the dishonesty of government officials, this outbreak would no doubt have been averted. In a published interview with Governor Perkins yester day, he is reported saying; The whites now understand they are liable to be attacked in any part of the state, at any time, where the In dians happen to be in sufficient force and unless the Indians are removed by the government they must neccs sarily be exterminated. The state is willing to settle the Indian trouble at its own expenses. The advan tages accruing from throwing open 12,000,000 acres ot land to miners and settlers would more than compensate for all the expenses incurred. 1 he 1 wies publishes a statement, supposed to be received from Gen. Checked In Their Advance By the speedy action of Hostetter' Bitters, dyspepsia, nervous indisposi tion, constipation and bilious corn plaints cease to harass the invalid. That they will instantly give ground is not pretended, but no medical fact is more certain, or avouched by more competent testimony, than that these maladies, and others to which it is adapted, entirely succumb to the in nuence of the medicine, if it be given a fair trial. Their total, if not instant rout, is certain to ensue. Losses of strength are repaired, and failure of appetite and nerve quietude are remedied by the Bitters; and as the stomach grows stronger and assimilation is aided by the action, a gam in flesh will follow.
