The Troy Times of the 19th says the bill that has just passed both h uses of the Legislature in relation to convicts sentenced tc prison for life affects but one person sinteucid from Troy Henrietta Robinson, known as .the vei e J murderess." The bil provides that persons sun. tenet d for life shall be conditionally released at the cud of fifteen years, provided their couduct has been such as to warrant clemency; that they are to have their liberty for ten years, at the end of whioh time they are' to receive pardon. If they are convicted of crime during that time, they are to be remanded tu prison to serve out the life stttence. Mrs. II biuson is now confined in the insane asylum at Auburn, being one of the three women in the State pricon there.vvho will be released bytheuew law. Iler ciiuie is familiar to the Tioyans. She was very , beautiful, and to this day even the counsel who defended her, auiortg whom was the Hon. Martin L. Townseud do pot know her parentage for- a certainty. She became kuowa as "the veiled murderess" on account of her refusal to raise her veil duringthe trial. She has, nof friends, and will probably remain in the insane asylum until re leased by death. The Herald says : "From a gentleman who reached the city last evening the reporter was given the particulars of a bold and daring attempt to rob the bank at Cleburne, Johnson Co. On Wednesday afternoon two men rode up to the bank, and, dismounting, enteiea and requested change for ft 20 gold piece. As the cashier reached to re ceive the coin from one maD, the other seized hint bv the throat, and both drawing revolvers, commanded him tor keep silent on penalty of death. Their threats were uot heeded, aud the cashier set up a shout tor help. .As soon as he raised the alarm, the robber who handed him the coin, fired, the ball striking him in ilia cheek, rangiug downward and breaking the jawbone.' ' Immediately atter uring the shot, the robbers ran for their horsts, and had succeeded in mounting them, when t who by this time had assembled opened a li vely fire upon them.' One of the robbers' horses was wounded, and he would have been captured had not his; comrade, with a reckless bravery, drawn his pistols aud rushed to his rescue. Id the lace of a heavy fire he succeeded in mounting his unhor ed comrade behind him, and putt i n r epurs to his horse dashed rapidly away., The whole thing oc curred so sudden, aud was so unexpected, that it wat some minutes before the eitiz; ns could rally. In a short time, however, bands bf horsemen wero scouring the couitry iu every direction, and it seems almost impossible that the daring scoundrels should. escape. When last heard of they were moving in the direction cf Johnson's Station. It is to be horded that they will be overtaken and made' to answer for their daring .o crime.
