B Young, Jr. He give both sides of the questio", and also its practical workings in Dixie. Ilia remarks were replete with sound reason, and showed the advantages to be gained by the people uniting in their labors. After the afternoon meeting was con eluded, a funeral service was held, and a very affecting scene it was; for side by side stood three coffins, containing tbe bodies of children who had died tbe day previous, from disease of the throat; six having died within two weeks, from the tame disease. I am sorry to Bay that there are several more cases in town. Up to two weeks ago there was a general time of good health. The winter bus bees unusually mild and pleasant; we have warm days and cold frosty nights, and the people are enjoying themselves after their hard labocs of J.ke.pajBt season. The Hyrum Dramatic Association have been very successful, and their performances have been highly appreciated, as they deserve to be, the principal characters being sustained by Messrs. H. H. Peterson, C. Andersen, J. E. Fopg and Mrs Corbett, Mrs. Williams, and Mi?s Pheanette Williams On Saturday eveuing last the choir gave a concert for tbe benefit of the Sabbath School, consisting of anthems, glees, duets and .ouoruses, .and Jf. tbe applause of the audience is any sign of satisfaction, then I i ink the Hyrum choir give satisfaction. Their lender and teacher, H H. Peterson, E?q , has been very energetic, and the perform ance of Saturday evening - was alike creditable both to him and the members of the choir. Four day schools are in active operation, and are well attended.' Our little city is fast being built up; many good and substantial .buildings have been erect rd during the past sea son. The carpenters are now working on the frame work of the tower, and by and bye tbe good people f. Hyrum will be called to ohu, oh by the sound of "Ding dong bell." About 75,- 000,000 pounds is said to be stored in warehouses, and 10,000,000 pounds more is on the way Xrorn the tea districts. Considerable money has been spent in lobbying for the increase of the tax. Diseases. The blood being the source from which our systems are built up and from which we dvrive our mental as well as physical eapitbiHties.how important that it should be kept pure. If it contains, vile festering poisons all organic functions are weakened thereoy. Setting upon important organs, as tbe lungs, liver, or kidneys, the effect is most disastrous. Hence it behooves every one to keep their blood in a perfectly healthy condition and more especially does this apply at this particular season of the year than at any other. No matter what the exciting cause may be, the real cause of a largo proportion of all diseases is bad oleod. Now Dr. Pierce does not wi-- h to place his Golden Medical Discovery in the catalogue ef quack patent nostrums by recommending it to cure every disease, nor does he so recommend it, on the contrary, there are hundreds of diseases that he acknowledges it will not cure; but what he does claim is this, that there is but one form of blood disease that it will not cure, and that He does not recomdisease is cancer. mend his Discovery for that disease, yet be knows it to be itje most searching blood cleanser yet discovered, and that it will free tbe blood and system of all other known blood poisons, be they animal, vegetable or mineral. The Golden Discovery is warranted by him to cure the worst forms of Skin Diseases, as all forms of Blotches, Pimples and Eruptions, alse all Glandular Swellings, and tbe worst form of Scrofulous and Ulcerated Sores of Neck, Legs or other parts, and all Scrofulous Diseases of tbe Bone?, as White Swellings, Fever Sores, Hip Joint and Spinal D. seises, all of which belongs to Scrofulous diseases. CONFIRMED HIP JOINT DISEASE . CURBD. W. Gbovb Station, Iowa, July 14, 1872. Dr. Pilbce, Buffalo, N. Y. : Dear Hir My wife first became lame nine yenrs ago. Swellings would appear and disappear on her hip, and she was gradually becoming reduced, and her whole system rotten with disease In 1871 a swelling broke en htr bip, discharging large quantities, and since that here are several openings. Have had five doctors at an expense of $125, who say nothing will do any good but a surgical operatien. July 16th, 1873, he writes thus: My wife has certainly received a great benefit from the use of your Discovery, for she was not able to get off the bed and was not expected to live a week when she commenced uing it, a year ago. She has been do:ng most of her work far over six months. Has usel twnty bottles and still using it. Her. recovery is considered as almost a miracle, and we attribute it all to the use of your vabuable medicine., I can cheerfully recommend it as a blood purifier and strength restorer. ' J. M.
