Judge Thimble, of the 11th Judicial District, testified to the fairness of the election. and that there was ne intimidation of voters. Judge Kelly, Rep., of the Winn parish, gave similar :estimony as to that parish, and to the friendly teeiing the races. He was elected judge three times, and had never been treated wiih disrespect. The parish was an exceptional one. J. L. Clark, of St. Mary parish, formerly from Ohio, Republican until the last election, testified to voting. with a large number of northern Republicans the Conservative ticket at the last election, for the reason that he did not see how any honest man in Louisiana could vote the Republican ticket. Hoar ordered the reason to be stricken out. Clark testified to the insecurity of port able property left without guard in the parish. Forty murders were recently committed there, mostly by negroes.
