Feeney and other leading citizens acting as an arrangement committee,' Mr. Harkin, who arrived In Ogden last night, was engaged on the editorial staff of the Irish News, Belfast, for some years and subsequently work ed in Dublin on the Irish Independent But a short time in this- country, he is tnorougniy raminar with .every phase of the Irish struggle, and his address at this time, when the Anglo-Iris- h negotiations are occupying the attention of the world, is certain to provoke much interest. MAYOR OX WAV. In the course of an Interview this morning Mr. Harkin said that Mayor Dempsey of Cork would be back from California to speak at the meeting. Thfe mayor, he said, had been invited .to this country by the American Commission of One Hundred, which investigated conditions in Ireland. Asked to explain the Ulster position Mr. Harkin said as one born in that province he was glad to have an opportunity of dealing with this side of the Irish question, "What you call Ulster," he remarked, "is'but four of Ulster's nine counties. Those four counties, perry, Antrim, Down and Armagh, are opposed to Irish independence, but the other five counties, Donegal, Tyrone, Fermanagh, Monaghan and Cavan, which, of course form the majority of the province, are overwhelmingly republican and today are. being administered, by republican county and city councils that have sworn allegiance to Dail Eireann, the republican government.
