With the country infirmary building at Roy now unfit for occupancy as the result of yesterday's fire, members of the board of county commissioners are facing the problem of caring for nearly forty old people who were inmates of the home. Temporarily the aged folks are being taken care of in the county isolation hospital north of the city, in the basement of the church at Roy and by some of their relatives. MAY REBUILD ELSEWHERE. No decision has yet been made by the board of commissioners as to whether the Infirmary property will be sold and a larger building constructed nearer the city, however, it was intimated that this action will probably be taken. Commissioner Maroni Skeen said the infirmary property Is worth fully $70,000 with the eighty acres of ground surrounding the building. If this were sold, he said, the money could be used for the erection of a of the inmates are well along in years and could not do much work around a farm. It was declared today that the cause of the fire is not definitely known, although it is believed that the blaze started in the room of Thomas W. Read, 70 years of age, who is said to have admitted to have been smoking a pipe in his bed Shortly before the fire was discovered. How the blaze before reached dangerous an alarm was given proportions is still a mystery. tion at the Ogden arsenal, who has just returned from a visit to Chicago and Indiana points. He completed arrangements while at Cheyenne to obtain the best talent at their 1921 show to perform at the Ogden Wild West show in September. "Frosts have practically ruined the fruit crops in Illinois. Michigan, Indiana and other midwestern states," said of Captain Bundy today "In many out the states recent storms wiped the. entire fruit crop while in other states the farmer used smudge pott to save their fruit." 00 ' READ TROUBLESOME, It was said today that the authorities have had considerable trouble with Read, who, they assert, has always been subject to periods of sullenness and a violent temper. Frequently he has quarreled with other inmates, it is reported, and has always been a source of annoyance to the authorities. Despite the fact that some of the Inmates were ill and unable to get out fof the building without assistance, all were saved. As soon as the alarm was given, Superintendent H. D. Brown got all or the aged men and women out of the building to the church across the street. Practically all of the furni- iture on the first floor was removed and was not damaged. PARTIALLY INSURED.
