Gustavo Grossman, wlyf according to his business cards is a geologist and petroleum engineer, was arrested here today for the Wyoming authorities on the charge of embezzling $27,000. Grossman- had been "living in Baltimore for nearly a year.' A copy of the warrant upon which a country-wid- e search had been made declares that he was lor Grossman, S. Browning, M. acting as agent for R. Eccles, of Scowcroft and L Joseph countv. rvatrona Wyoming, in 1917. In June of that year, he was given 530,000 to secure options or leases on mines and oil wells, but is alleged to have decamped with all except $3,000 pf -- this fund. O. Corey, representative of L. R. Eccles, and M. S. Browning of Ogden for ome time on a charge of embezzlement, according to Mr. Eccles.menMr. in fcorey represented the Ogden Jhe Wyoming oil fields. Mr. Eccles said that in 1917 Browning, Scowcroft and himself advanced Grossman $30,000 to investigate and purchase lands in the Wyoming oil sfields. After Grossman went into the field it is asserted that he used about $3,000, according to his agreement, then disappeared with the baland ance of $27,000. 'i After Grossman left Wyoming the ft interests svere looked after by Mwho signed the complaint charging Gross-Jna- n with 'felony. The warrant for Grossman's arrest and his arrest were made at the instance of the Wyoming authorities.
