While they were there a son of Mr. Mclntyrecame along with a gun loaded with slugs, which he Uii dawn on the ground. The arm was dreadfully shattered and one slug went through bis left ear. His parents are in great grief ever this lamentable affair, this being the second bereavement of the same kind in their family. Six or eight years ago tbey lost one of their Bons by a similar terrible accident. This fatal occurrence has cast a gloom over the whole settlement. Small pox has appeared in the Billinger family. It ap again pears that some clothing which had been buried and supposed to be disinfected, was exhumed and washed by a member if the family, and this is surmised to be the cause of the reappearance of the disease in that household. This should serve as a warning to all who may have buried anything in. tended for future use, it should be al lowed to remain a sufficient time to en cure disinfection, and then be washed hy some person who has been afflicted with the malady.
