Show football Co-coachi- THE SENTINEL all-star- s Bojak's back in harness by Robert Mickelson "I've x - : ; "- Young and strong, Rick looked as taut and trim as in his college football days at Weber State. .Sentinel Staff told already my returning players, I'm not any nicer or meaner than I was before." After all, Jordan High football coach Kick Bo jak didn't undergo a change-o- f heart, only a change of valves. Just two months after going through open heart surgery, coach Bojak is back in harness, he drilling a band of and Judge head coach Frank L'Etoile will lead in the upcoming Utah High School football game. The game is set for Aug. 3 at Judge Memorial High School and will get underway at 8 p.m. The &A team opened practice at Jordan High on Monday and will be working out there weekdays, 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon, right up until game day. Bojak stated that the practices are open to anyone who'd like to stop by and watch. To people who know him and to the coach himself, Bojak seemed a very . unlikely candidate for heart problems. According to Bojak, doctors are still not sure how this extremely rare form of bacterial infection got into his system. The medical term for the condition is "bacterial endocarditis" (I hope that's spelled right) "It was just a one in a he noted 10,000,000 chance," later. "The doctors told me one way the bacteria can enter the body from dental work, but the only work I had done on my teeth was to have them cleaned. One doctor said it was possible to get it even from a cleaning, while others said it wasn't.". About a year ago, Rick began experiencing symptoms that were characteristic of the flu. The only problem was that they didn't seem to go away. Bojak suffered from fevers as high as 103 degrees. Because the disease is so rare and difficult to diagnose, it took doctors a while to get a handle on it. Bojak was first treated with drugs, but with little effect.
