Show Six local teams entered THE SENTINEL Section 2 area teams will be numbered among the 21 squads vying for the Valley League title in American Legion Baseball action that gets underway this week. state Defending champ Hillcrest will once again be under the leadership of Bob Keyes and Ray Varoz. Hillcrest is one of 11 teams in the Valley Eastern Division, League's which includes local entrants Jordan, Alta, and Brighton. The other seven teams were listed as Highland, Cottonwood, Judge Memorial, East, Holladay, Skyline, and Granite. Alta will be in its second year under manager Wayne Ferguson, who'll be assisted by Bruce Cook. Jordan has a new manager in Terry Bush, and D'On Hansen will be taking over the reigns at Brighton. Immediate help is needed in opening several picnic and camping areas. Patio brooms, gloves and willingness to help are the only tools needed. Potential Eagle projects, pack, troop, team or post service projects or service from other groups or the general public are available.
