He had more enemies than most of us will ever encounter, which may explain why he praved so often. In Psalm 141 he was praying for protection against being driven to sin. More than anything else he wanted to be pleasing to his Heavenly Father. Notice his words in verse 4: Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of , their dainties. Ho prays further that someone would correct him if ho did do wrong. Furthermore, that correction would be accepted bv him as a kindness! Is it any wonder that Paul spoke of David as a man after God's own heart? (Acts 13:22). Today, we need to understand that what worked for David will also work for us. He was precious to God and so are we. Read John 14:21. 2A to see what Jesus had to sav on the subject: Perhaps the answers to the following wilfincrea.se our understanding: 1. Do I pray only when I'm in trouble? 2. Do I really believe God will meet my needs as surely as I le met David's? :i. Make n list of your petitions as you pray and then check them off as the answers come. For thnv will come. Presented in love by Mountain View Christian Assembly. Sandy. Rev. James Avers, Pastor.
