Muir's time of 1:55.36 bettered the old mark of 1:55.90 set back 3-- A in 1981. Alta High's boys had the best day at BYU, placing Team-wis- e, Many Neat second to Clearfield 58 to 46. The Hawks also slammed Kearns in a dual meet on Tuesday Hillcrest's guys ended up tied for third at BYU with 42 points. In other dual meet action, Bingham's boys nipped West 0 Jordan Tuesday and y Jordan took part in a meet with Murray, South, and West on Wednesday. The Region Two meet will be held Wednesday and Thursday of this week at West Jordan High. Comptition will begin at 2:30 p.m. both days. Region Six's meet will be hosted by Murray Thursday and Friday, starting at lla.m. both days. One of the highlights of Alta's trip to BYU was Todd Larsen's second place finish in the was which decathalon, completed on Saturday. Larsen finished with 6,070 points. Among the other placers for the Hawks, Brian McCleary won the high jump, Dave Williams was second and John Peterson sixth in the pole vault; Eric Ullis was third in the discus, Mark Christensen was fourth in the 300 hurdles, Jeff Davis fourth in the 200, and Brad Rentfro was fifth in both the 100 and long jump. Hillcrest did not have a dual d meet, but at BYU 100 both won the Haws Marty and 200 then tacked on a first in the long jump as well.
