What a geographical giant that would have awakened!! For one example, where the Copperton Highway extends east through West Jordan, it is 7800 South and through Midvale, it's Center Street and where it perpendiculars State Street it is 7720 South. The street of 7800 S. in Midvale only starts from 1300 East and extends west to end at State. I would like to see a watch-docommittee here in Midvale as has been adopted in some areas. Bingham High finished second, and Hillcrest took third place. Individual honors were won by Brighton senior Steven Priebe who finished first in seven of nine possible events. Decathlon Academic of consists competition in economics, examinations language and literature, social science and American history, mathematics, fine arts, and science, a written essay, an interview and a speech. Three levels of competition include Honors for students with grade above 3.75, point averages Scholastic for GPA's between 3.00 and 3.74 and Varsity for students whose GPA is below 3.00. While students all take the same examinations, competition occurs only between students of the same category. She's become quite adept at making gingerbread houses during the past years, so much so that now she sells dozens during the Christmas season. Brighton wins academic decathlon -- 7619 South advanced the process to a fine art and her houses are in such high demand that the only way she can keep up with orders is to mass produce them. "One day I'll just make houses, the next the figures, the next trees, and so on," she explained. "This way it only takes about an hour to assemble them. If I started from scratch and just made one complete house, it would take me to three hours." Even so, she spends many nights working past midnight and as Christmas eve draws closer it can approach 1 or even 2 a.m. before she calls it a night. Every year, Patricia tries to add something new to her creations, such as the wreath above the door or the snowmen in the yard. "I have so many loyal customers, that I want to do something different for them," she explained. of those Many repeat customers end up as volunteer sales people for Patricia. If they sell enough, Patricia provides them with their gingerbread house free as payment. Though Christmas is just a few short days away, Patricia reported that she will try to accommodate a few new orders, if they come in right away. Anyone who might desire a gingerbread house as a holiday decoration for the home or as a special gift is encouraged to get in touch with her. Participants must be prompt because latecomers cannot be admitted. Preregistration is not required for this program.
