White of Utah Tech's School of an Trades and Industry, instructor training program is being held this week (Dec. for about 25 automotive various instructors from institutions so that they may be certified to teach the inspectechnician tionmaintenance program beginning in January. This instructor training program is being given by E.P.A. personnel out of Denver, on Utah Tech's Redwood Road campus. At Utah Tech, subsequent technician training programs will be offered for 4 hours each oh two consecutive y y or hours 8 or for sessions, each on 2 consecutive Saturdays. The program is designed to be 90 hydro-carbo- designed specifically to prepare auto mechanics and technicians for vehicle emissioas certification. The Salt Lake area will need at least 500 such technicians certified by spring, in order to the begin to accommodate emissions auto required inspections. Both Salt Lake and Davis counties have relatively higher air pollution levels, according to High School Band Celebrating Christmas In Old Town Midvale certified course. Dean White adds that five suppliers are loaning the college emissions testing equipment. The college dean notes that locally only vehicles registered in Salt Lake and Davis counties will be required to be inspected for emissions standards on an annual basis. This inspection will not be part of the annual state safety inspection, although it could be done at that time as an additional inspection. The cost is proposed at $10, with cost of adjustments to be not more than $15 for 1968 through 1981 vehicles. The vehicle emission inspectionmaintenance has to be done so that a vehicle owner has the certification at the time application is made for the annual registration renewal. Vehicles which fail to meet the emissions standards will be required to be repaired so as to meet the standards, or to have 5 basic adjustments made by a certified mechanictechnician in an effort to bring the vehicle into compliance. Those adjustments are ignition dwell, timing, idle speed, idle mixture, and choke Dec. 10 5--9 p.m. state-of-the-a- QMSTLIE l. v Christmas SPALDING TOP FLUE XL 15 Ball Bonus Pak fcX NYL0N SPALDING PRO STAFF GOlf COLUPSIBLE DOT TITLEIST D.T.
