Show THE SENTINEL Thursday, May 5. 1983 Page 2 HHS guys capture first In what turned out to be a very ow scoring meet, the Hillcrest High boys track team took top :eam honors in the annual BYU Meet Track Invitational Saturday, considered the most prestigious in the state. The Huskies ended up with 52 team points, while Payson finished with 44 and Clearfield 42. Hillcrest's victory at BYU came on top of a solid win over Brighton in dual meet action Tuesday. Just about every other Sentinel area team was represented at BYU and while none placed especially high in the team standings, all had some bright spots individually. Other region action included over win Alta's Skyline, Taylorsville, and Granite in a y meet 103 to 80, 60, and 32 Tuesday; Jordan's loss to South Wednesday; and loss to Kearns Bingham's Tuesday. Dual meet action in Region Two was wrapped up on Tuesday of this week. But, on Friday and Saturday, the area's schools will be at Davis High, while Jordan travels down to Timpview for High invitational competition. The Region Two meet will be hosted by Alta on Thursday and Friday, while the Region Six May meet is slated for South High on the same two days. four-wa- 83.5-59- .5 90-4-4 At BYU, Hillcrest was led by Dave Adams who won the jump of 21 '10'V and the first place medley long relay team of Adams, Markus Ehrhardt, Daren Fackerell, and Jace Brewer which won in 3:41.22. In addition, Tim Phillips was second in the pole vault; Kyle Jensen second in the intermediate hurdles and fifth in the highs; the 400 relay team of Marty Haws, Adams, Ehrhardt, and Jensen second; and Jace Brewer fourth in the mile. While Hillcrest coach Raynor Pearce was happy with the win, he was also looking down the road to Davis this weekend. "There will be just teams at Davis and that should give a clearer idea about how state might go," he said.
