State fishing forecast given CENTRAL REGION FISHING FORECAST Unlike tha last couple of yean, low water levels in streams and normal levels in reservoirs will provide a wide variety of fishing opportunities in the Central Region for the fishing opening on Hay 30. Almost without exception all waters will be planted. Stream! are running dear and should be fiahable for the opening. The larger reservoirs vHl attract large crowds. Many waters not generally available the first few weeks of the season will be open this year. Fishermen should expect about the same fishing success in Central Region waters as last year. ANTIMONY LAKES Access with drive only. Plenty of unimproved camping areas. ASAY CREEK Stocked. Limited camping along VS. St. BAKER RESERVOIR This water opened the first of April. AND BARKER LOWER BARKER RESERVOIR Win be stocked. Camping is limited. BEAVER MOUNTAIN LAKES AND STREAMS Over s dozen fishable lakes and several streams are found on the Beaver Mountains. Access to these lakes and streams should be good by opening weekend. Eight of the Beaver Mountain Lakes (all with highway access) will be stocked. Developed - - - and undeveloped camping areas. BEAVER RIVER Peak runoffispast. Will be stocked. BEAVER, BULLION. BOX AND CITY CREEKS Recently planted. Plenty of unimproved camp areas. BIG LAKE AND DEEP LAKE - - - Both will be stocked. The purpose of the limit is to reduce the large take of fish the first two days, so the quality of fishing will be kept at a high level during the following weeks. In all streams and rivers of the state, a daily bag or possession limit must not include more than two trout or salmon over 13 inches. The size limit is an effort to increase the number of large fish in rivers and streams. A new set of fishing regulations will be in effect during the 1961 general season on the Provo River 5 between the Highway bridge east of Woodland and the Olms tead diversion 6 miles below Deer Creek Reservoir dam. Artificial flies and lures only will be allowed. All brown, brook and cutthroat trout over 13 inches must be released. The limit for each of these species is two fish less than 13 inches long. The normal limit of eight applies to rainbow trout in this portion of the river. However, not more than two rainbows more than 13 inches ill length may be kept.
