"I was in and out of school the whole time, going from BYU to Utah State, then back to BYU, then to BYU Hawaii and finally I graduated from BYU." During this time, she earned money by cleaning the houses brothers David and Howard were building in their West Jordan subdivision. Then, she received a phone call from Los Angeles asking her to work as a production assistant for a Cates Brothers Special. But, there was a lot of work to be done and he instructed them to come to New York. "We arrived at 10 a.m. the next day. The next year, her girlfriend went to South Africa and Dr. Hansen told Virginia she wouldn't be needed. But a "feeling" kept insisting she 'would. Her job soon expanded and she became the secretary to the director, the production assistant, and the "head gopher." Working at the studio was a lot of fun. It also provided her with an opportunity to meet a number of celebrities. "I remember one , Valentine's Day, we had chocolates all over the office. You'd put out a two pound box and it would be gone in an hour. Well, I had some salt water taffy that I kept hidden under my desk. Ruth Buzzi, who was guest starring that week, knew it was there. She came into the room and the next thing I knew, she had crawled under my desk to get it. I looked down at her and she looked up at me from the floor and asked 'can I have a piece of candy?' I nodded and she said thanks and went on her way." When the Donny and Marie Show ended, Virginia began Show Donna on the Fargo working 3 Page D.U.P. W.J.
