The letter, which was presented to the mayor and the council, said in part "I feel it is in my personal and professional best interests to accept other employment. I have been offered a more promising position in another city here in Utah." West Jordan police report that ten arrests were made in the city during the past week. Juveniles accounted for the majority of arrests made. Seven were arrested, including one for assault and lewdness, two for theft, one for criminal trespass and mischief, and three were picked up for discharging a firearm within city limits. Three adults were also arrested including two for aggravated robbery and on for DUI, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, and driving on a revoked license. Approximately $1,000 worth of damages was done to a pick-u- p truck after it was allegedly struck and forced off the road by another vehicle then turned on its side in a field near 2700 W. 7100 S. The driver of the second vehicle told police that he did not realize that he had hit the truck. He was cited for leaving the scene of an accident. The incident is still under investigation.
