Public Works Director Darrell Jones told the city council it would cost approximately $20,000 to repair. Water from the well has been the subject of controversy during the ' past few months. After the conservancy district raised its rates, West Jordan passed on a partial increase to residents then placed Edenbrooke, Brown's Meadow, and Mountain View subdivisions on the less expensive well water to save money. (Other western areas in the city have, been using the water for five years.) The well water is harder than conservancy water and homeowners in those subdivisions began complaining. In the city council directed Jones to try mixing the water to decrease its hardness. The public works director was in the process of carrying out that directive when the motor burned out. The subdivisions are currently being furnished with conservancy water. Jones said that if the pump had broken down in the summertime, the area would have been without water IkN an to km if amiaMt, mi knW m tNwCriltM.ir ntoJ kj a Kaa, Eaacnr, m a i tor'i In, hi Mich MCfk rWM tnm Tto toJeT wukm it tot wha m riMrtiwi, I hit nflrti tot pufh) nh w nl wt hm.
