The policy declaration includes five areas favored for possible future annexations: Area A is approximately 950 acres bounded on the east by the Jordan River and on the west by the 1978 city limits of West Jordan. Area B is 113 acres which has become an unincorporated island after annexations by both South Jordan and West Jordan. The area spans between 9000 and 9400 South. Area C involves approximately 5,600 acres that was part of a proposed South Jordan annexation The 1979. in approximate boundaries are from 4800 West at 11800 South, the line continues up to 8000 West, then north to 10200 South, east to 6000 West, north to 9800 South, east to 5600 West, south to 10200 South, east to 5200 West, north to 9800 South, and east to 4800 West where it follows the West Jordan city limits. Area D is approximately 32,000 acres, which includes land that South Jordan and West Jordan both previously tried and failed to annex. The south boundary begins at 11800 South and 8000 West and goes up to the county line ; the west boundary is the county line; the north, begins at 7000 South and the county line, moves west to 4800 West, then north on 6200 South, west to about 4400 West, south to 6800 South where it drops and follows West Jordan City limits to 9400 South and from there goes up to 4800 West and again follows the West Jordan City limits. Excluded is the Industrial Park area. Area E contains the unincorporated communities of Herriman and Lark and the Kennecott Mine Pit, acres. 12,200 approximately Beginning at 11800 South and 4400 West, the area is bordered on the south by 13400 South, on the west by the county line and on the north by 11800 South.
