The only trouble was, only three teams could qualify. as expected, Orem, solved part of the problem by powering to a first place and a region title, while Hillcrest and Bingham dueled to a two point margin for the final two. Brighton was left with only those participants finishing in the top ten to represent them at state, while Alta was left without a single state entrant. Alta, however, still went away happy, as their women's team, behind Sheryl Howlett, conquered that division of competition. Brighton was second there.
