Job Bank ser-- ! vice is provided to everyone at no fee or cost. Quinton Palmer, vocational counselor for Employment Security, explained how it works. An employer contacts the State Employment office requesting help in finding a good worker. Employment Security puts the job infor- mation on display at their! oltice, 1234 South Main, Salt lake City. A duplicate copy of jobs in the South County area are also displayed on the board in the South County Community Center. The Mid-- : vale Job Bank includes job openings with Utah State and Salt Lake County. Willie Vialpando, Psycho-- ; metrist and placement inter-- , viewer at the center, pointed out that the Job Bank in Midvale actually gives South County employers double ex- posure of their job openings. In addition to this "meeh- anical" Job Bank, Employ- j ment Security puts every application and job offer on their gigantic Job Bank com- puier. vvnen a matcn is made, an interviewer contacts the applicant and discusses in detail the job offer. If the applicant feels the job offer is "right", a referral is made introducing the applicant and the company. Employment Security has had a close working relation- ship with LAP since CAP s inception in 1964. A full program of services is provided at the South County Community Center, including, welfare services, youth em- ployment services, veterans outreach counseling, self help housing, and alcoholism counseling. j j i j j 1 SERVING: Cottonwood Heights, Granite, East Midvale, Sandy, White City, Draper, Crescent, Midvale, Bluffdale, Herriman, Lark, Copperton, Riverton, South Jordan, and West Jordan communities.
