It has been renovated, creating new offices for the city manager, treasurer, Sandy City police, county sheriffs, and State highway patrol. The parking lot in the rear has been black topped, making more room for customers. There are now six full time police officers protecting the city Instead of one full time man and four part time reserves. Along with Sandy City officers, there are those from the State highway patrol and the County Sheriffs' department, coming into and through the city at all hours of the day and night. This is good, because it gives the added police protection needed. The city has three well equipped police cars instead of one. In the water department, two-tmillion gallon tanks and one 1,265,000 gallon tank have been installed. They are located in areas which will give more water and better pressure. Granite water system is now connected to Sandy City lines. New 10" and 12" lines have been laid at various places throughout the city to give better transportation of water to needed locations. Three new wells have been added to the water system; two have been equipped making It one of the best water systems In the county. A new diesel power unit has been added for standby in case of power shortage. With this unit the city will not be entirely without water. The garbage load has increased many times.
