May 1, 1969 n Competing in the Sandy Stake road shows the First Ward MIA was named top winners with their play "Mosquitos of Itch," written and directed by Mrs Loa Blaisdell. The theme for the stake event was "Do You Remember When." Taking the lead in the cast as king and queen were David Stevens and Eileen Kunz, with Ronny Kunz as the villian. There Kunz as the villian. They received honorable mention for costuming and entree act and a Mrs Thomas Lakey was named poppy chairman for the coming poppy sales to be conducted in Sandy, an annual project of the American Legion Auxiliary Sandy unit 77. She will be assisted by Mrs Richard Setterberg. Poppies will be sold on May 24 in a door to door campaign assisted by youngsters in the irea. The younger organized groups are encouraged, as a service project, to assist this civic organization in its endeavor to continue their assistance to needy families in the area through the popy sales. Mr Reynolds was on a business trip for his company, traveling to Nevada and Arizona. Spending a week with their daughter and family, Mr & Mrs George Washington, D. C. were Mr & Mrs Lyle Gunderson. They also visited another daughter Nancy Gunderson, making her home there. Many places of interest were included in their travels. Mrs Esther Gogosian, Pacific City, Ore., left Friday morning for California after having spent a week with Mrs Francom. Jim Sharp, Adams St., returned home Monday last week following a stay in the St. Mark's Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
