Show Needed: Fresh Air Almost every year, it seems, we have a scandal of one sort or another in the Salt Lake County government. This year the county spent $108,000 for land in Cottonwood Canyon that had been purchased a few months earlier by three men, one of them a county employe, for $36,000. Object of the purchase was to replace the Spruces campground. Deals like this smell pretty bad. And the county commission has made it smell worse by having the county attorney's office defend 0 the deal instead of prosecute it. The people of Salt Lake County owe a great deal to Glen F. Palmer, county auditor, for bringing the situation into the open. The whole mess needs a thorough airing, and we hope it gets it. Put us down, Mr Chairman, as favoring a 13 reduction, not an increase. f Juveniles Referred For Theft of Bulbs Stealing bulbs from Christmas decorations resulted in arrest of four juveniles and their referral to juvenile court by Midvale police. Edward 646 Jacobson, Princeton St., caught the four juveniles, two boys and two girls, all 14, as they were removing bulbs from his outdoor decorations. Police said none of the four had previous police records. Chief Louis S. Smith said that residents in the same part of town have also reported losses of 30 and 12 1 bulbs.
