They honored the newlyweds at a wedding breakfast following a Bargain Once in a while county folks can sit back and smile while Salt Lake City squirms. One of hose times is right now, with the Supreme Court upholding the agreement that the city has to pay the water bill for the slate capitol. The city was eager to lure the capitol away from Fillmore, and the Salt Lake offer of free water for all time was no doubt a factor in getting the capitol moved. Now Salt Lake, stuck with $7,000 a year in water bills, is sorry for iti bargain and will probably ask the legislature to take the city off the hook. The legislature should say no. Salt Lake is still getting a bargain. Any city in the state would pay $7,000 a year to have the capitol. But the situation should teach a lesson. Sometimes r communities become to gain some asset and they make rash offers that they live to regret. There is another agreement made recently that will come back to haunt the next few generations. the ceremony. The new highway should take the low road instead of the high road, and build the freeway through the Jordan narrows. We doubt if it would be any more expensive, and it would surely save lives. We feel that the highway department has built enough freeways in the wrong places, and should make up for a few errors by picking the correct route once in a d : while. And it's even more doubtful that the legislature will buy such a restriction, because there are more outdoor sportsmen in Utah than there are cattlemen. There is no doubt that careless sportsmen afield have given cattlemen, ranchers, farmers trouble from time to time.
