Came To your Wedding was the play opening the Hale Center Theater on July 12, 1985. Written by Ruth and Nathan Hale, the threeact comedy gave the theater a rollicking send-of- f and, since the grand of the remodeled, newly enlarged theater is scheduled in January, seemed the logical choice for a new beginning at HCT, said spokesman Sally Dietlein. When the Hales read a letter to Ann Landers in which a mother bemoaned the fact that her daughter was marrying into a wealthy family, and the mother of the groom wanted the wedding at her home because her friends would feel more comfortable there, the idea for the comedy was born. The production is under the direction of Sally Hale Swenson and will feature several popular Hale performers, including Susan Carlile and Tara Meyrick in the lead role of Ditsy Darren Call. Warren Holz and Darren Nord will double in the role of Johnny Hardy. The stuffy groom will be played by Mark Dietlein and Burton Yuen; his overly high society mother by Yvonne Huegly and will Evelyn Neville.
