Show THE GREEN SHEET Thursday, November 21, 1985 This One's On Ruby Miflesioimes . . . . Beverly Harvey Trades Vows With Rick Dukatz Ruby Hausknecht, a name many of you will know, was a good friend of Gram's and she became one of my favorite people. I met her first over a bridge table as I substituted in their group and I loved, yet dreaded being at her table. You see, I was a neophyte and she could have held her own with Omar Shariff. She watched the bidding like the proverbial hawk, and, after about two rounds of play, knew the position of just about every card. She also knew how to get those cards out of you at the exactly right time, too. For her. This year I'm joining one of my sons for Thanksgiving dinner and was requested to bring this salad. And, I figure if it's good enough to be remembered and asked for, it's high time I passed it along to you. ftuiuj'5 nim LnvnGH A double-rin- g ceremony Nov. 9th at the Chateau Reception Center united Rick Dukatz Beverly Harvey in marriage. and Immediately 2 packages xk What I really liked, though, about going to her home was the luncheon. Some of my favorite dishes came from Ruby for I had no compunction whatever about asking for the recipe, and she, generous soul that she was, was quick to share with me. Gram's name is on so many cards; Ruby's scattered throughout; several from Jan; Ann over there; some beginning to come from Nancy; and I don't mind at all, for, when I cook 'their' recipes, it's like visiting with them as well. Now, I well know that you will find recipes galore from now until after the New Year's celebration, but trust me, trust me, trust me. This is one to cut out, put in your file and use, use, use. So . . . today ... I give you a 'Ruby' recipe. That dear lady is no longer with us because a year or two ago she 'joined the majority,' but anyone who ever sat at her table will remember the good things she served as well as the hearty talk and laughter that went with it all. f The newlyweds will make their home in Salt Lake following a honeymoon in Park City. . i And when you sit back and listen to your family praise and call you blessed for being such a good cook, don't tell them that I had anything to do with it, but kindly send your thanks to Ruby, parties were hosted by Glenda Lindquist and Beth and Lori Match.
