Show The Salt Lake Telegram. THURSDAY EVENING, OCTOBER 29, 1903. A1LL0N MORE rffiAN Little Mare Trats Mile to Min- Oct. 29. The eight-da- y MEMPHIS, the meeting: of Memphis Trotting association was brought to a fitting close yesterday with the breaking of two additional world's trotting recorda, Lou Dillon, Mr. Billings's champion trotter, driven by her owner, went a mile to wagon in two rs minutes flat, cutting a second and from the previous record, made by herself, and The Monk and Equity, driven by Mr, Billings, their owner, lowered the world's trotting record of 2:091,i for a mile to pole to 2:CS. The performance of Iou Dillon in the milo trial to wagon was even more spec tacular than tho trial against time last Saturday, when she trotted a mile in l:5S',i. Yesterday's trial was made with the customary two runners to set the pace, and the forward sulky carried a wire dust screen. As the horses drew near u;e last eighth pole the speed of the little mare was so terrific that Mr. Billings tirew her from behind the forward sulky, driven by Doc Tauner, and the finish was made in a drive with two runners alongside of the trotter, all three hoi sc3 flashing under the wire noses apart. The start was made on the lirst trial and the quarter was reached in 2S4 seconds, the hall' in in and tho mile in exactly two minutes. The spectators gave the speedy little mare a great demonstration. The Monk and Equity, driven by Mr. B!l- in with a single runner, driven by Doc Taraer to set the pace. The handsome, team was driven around the track at a slow jug, with the runner trailing and before the wire was reached the runnerjust drew alongsi-land under the wire the three horses went for the. trial against time.in At the quarter the timers was 324. the half in 1:04; caught in 1:'M and tha mile in 2:08.
