The delegations of Easterners en route to San Francisco to attend the national encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic, which will open August 17th, began to pass through Salt Lake today. Four special trains, conveying in the neighborhood of 1500 persons, whizzed through this city over the Rio Grande. The travelers did not stop here for the reason that they were afraid they could not secure accommodations on the Southern Pacific out of Ogden if they gave up the reservations they had already made. The business over that road is so heavy today that the company is experiencing considerable difficulty in securing tourist and standard sleepersde-in numbers sufficient to supply the mands made for accommodations. The trains that passed through today are not, however, of those mentioned in the list published a day or so ago, but are specials carrying persons who hail from all parts of the East. No change has been made in the plans for handling the thirty or more trains scheduled to arrive here between August 11th and 16th, and theongreater them number of persons traveling will stop over here from six to twelve hours. -- I , I j j (; Uncle Sam. 100 :'t 2c. nt 13c.
