Mrs. Pearson, a graduate of Brigham Young University, taught school in Ephralm for a year and then traveled to Europe, Russia and Afric- - for a year. She told how difficult it is to write a book, especially a book of poetry. Each poem in her book was the result of an experience she had had. On her wedding day, she wrote "Another Birth." When she was in Africa she wrote, "Day Old Child," for friends she was staying with who had a new baby. The poem "From a Woman" . was the result of hearing a speech about the role of a man Phone and a woman. Mrs. Pearson said that her own mother died when she was quite young and so she wrote her thoughts about his experience into the poem, "Woman Child." She also shared a poem she wrote a wee ago, "The Pruning." This poem talked about all the involvements modern women get themselves into. Mrs. Terry Walker was in charge of the program and in- traduced her guest. The busi ness meeting was conducted by Ms. Fred Jones. The social committee reported on parties to be held Dec. 19 and Dec. 26. The vice president, Mrs. Carter, is moving to Calif ornia and all the members wished her well in her move. 373-450- On the go plaids! 0 Forget the ironing ond breeze through the busy active days ahead in Penn-PreFortrel polyester cotton.
