Provo staged their rally in the second period and knotted the count at again at 2 before 6 at and finally to stay they moved out in front lead at and picked up a the halfway mark. The visiting Bulldogs were never passed again although the Forkers did threaten in the final quarter when Provo, lead, went boasting into a ball control system with 3:10 remaining and the Ameri can Fork team cut the margin down to three points before the buzzer ended their, hopes for a victory. It was big Jim Rees, sophomore center, who really found himself and put on a great demonstration both defensively and offensively to pace the Bulldogs to their victory. Along with Carvel Allen and Mer-lyn- n Jones, he was a demon on the boards, reaching above the Forkers to snag the ball. On offense he drove the Cavemen dizzy with his sensational shooting. He canned a total of 24 points, most of them coming at crucial points when a miss could have been disastrous. It was the shooting of Jesse Prisbrey, Clint Wilson and Dean Burgess that pushed the Forkers out in front in the first n period. Rees staged; a battle for Provo against that trio and when he caught fire in the second quarter the Cavemen were left trailing. Jim Cunningham came into the game for the Forkers in the third quarter and he spark-b- e their attack but couldn't contain Rees who paced the Bulldogs in each of the first u. three periods.
