Show . Defeats Joe Cowley I n Finals of Toumameni Wayne Pearce of Salt Lake City won the Intermountain tennis championship Saturday by defeating fellow Utahn, Joe Cowley, and 6 on the BYU courts. Pearce put on a great display of tennis finnesse to sweep past Cowley, who probably had a lot taken out of him in Friday's semifinal match against Linn Rockwood, which lasted over four hours. Pearce's win gave him the men's singles title Cowley gained the finals by upsetting Rockwood, in a semifinal match Friday. Pearce gained the finals by deBob Axtell of Pocatello, feating 6-- 1,- 0 in another Friday semifinal.
