Allen Bateman, Utah State superintendent of public instruction, will be commencement speaker . at the summer Red Cross Bloodmobile Due In Nephi ! r ident Ernest L. Wilkinson. The baccalaureate service will be held Thursday, Aug. 20. Both program for Juab counannounces the bloodmobile ty,' will be in Nephi Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Nephi Armory building from 3 to 7 p.m. The bloodmobile comes from the regional Red Cross blood center at Salt Lake City. The attending physicians will be Dr. F. H Beckstead and Dr. A. A; Boston. Mr. Hall states that the Jay-ceof of Nephi are at this visit bloodmobile the time, and the jJaycee Janes will .be on hand to help with the typewriting and rt cords. Eureka will also come to! participate in the drive for, the. blood bank. The quota for .this time is 100 , pints. The Red Cross blood program has been; a wonderful asset to the Juab County Hospital, said Mr. Hall. "One of the patients there has a rare type ofjlood, and has already used 35 pints, arid if it weren't for the Red Cross, the special blood could notTiave been secured from local donors, he said. The patient is Clifford Hansen, who needs a pint of blood a week. Replacements can be any type of blood, which any one wishes to donate for Mr. Hansen. Itcan be so designated when Hhe blood is given,) and the Red Cross can furnish the type that is needed. The Red Cross does not require that MrL Hansen replace the blood, but if it could be replaced, it would help, and another type of blood can be used elsewhere, Mr. Hall! said.' Had the blood been purchased, it would have cost $35 to $50 a pint. It is hoped that those who can, will come to the Armory on Thursday to donate blood for those who need it, and help put over the quota of .100 pints.
